The experience between killing a green mob versus a yellow or orange mob is almost non-existent. In addition, you can get through way more green level mobs during the time it would take to kill and recover from a mob that was at your level. Not to mention that you have a much better chance of not getting a crowd of mobs by accident that you can't handle.
